Dear RCC Supporter, The North Carolina State Assembly adopted a bill two years ago that may put HALF of all wetlands in North Carolina at risk of development. Now, they are set to make this change FINAL unless we act! By opening up swamps and wetlands to development, flood risks increase, insurance costs rise, and valuable habitat is lost. In Eastern North Carolina, these changes will be even more pronounced, with much of the Albemarle-Pamlico peninsula and Great Dismal Swamp losing protections. We must protect our precious North Carolina wetlands from rampant development. In fact, you have a chance to make your voice heard and save our wetlands and wildlife NOW. Comment by June 26th at noon. Attend virtually at 6pm on June 26th via WebEx. We ask you to step up and fight for all our North Carolina neighbors by submitting public comment to the NC Environmental Management Commission. Tell the state government NO on loosening conservation rules. Say NO to this developer land grab. Say NO to destructive flooding on the Coastal Plain. Comment by June 26th at noon.
